Owl Treat Pillow Boxes

Evening all, what a scorcher today, I hope you're loving the sun. We're making the most of it this weekend with a BBQs, visitng a beer festival, hours at different parks with the kids and we've had the paddling pool out and the afternoon which ended up with a big waterfight.

I still found time in the evenings for a bit of crafting. Today I want to show you some cute owl treat boxes I made. There are lots of different versions of these around and this is one my version.

I've used the Stampin up (SU) pillow box die to make the base shape and then decorated it with ds paper and cardstock using shapes punched from the 1" and 3/4" circle punches, blossom punch (for the feet) and large oval punch. I've also added some gems for the eyes.
They are so cute I couldn't help but make them in a few different colours. My favourite colour, melon mambo make an appearance on the purple and pink owl.

If you would like to learn make one this is just one of the things we will be making at my next craft class in Carterton on June 7th.

Birthday flowers

Wow, it's the weather amazing. I've just spent the last hour in the garden whilst it was still nice at warm. I just hope it lasts.

Yesterday it was a friends birthday and I know she loves the flowers that I make using the SU flower dasies die so I thought I'd make her a bunch in her favouriate colours and a matching vase.

I've used riding hood red, melon mambo and very vanilla card to cut out the flower layers from the flower daisies die. I then layered them together on a kebab stick.

For the vase I used the new SU scoreboard to help me make it using riding hood red card. It's decorated with SU ds paper (everyday enchantmant from salebration that's no longer available and beyond the garden which is in the current main catalogue). I used the scallop and butterfly punch and Melon Mambo scallop dots ribbon to decorate.
Thanks for stopping by.

Scrapbooking Part Two

Good morning, as promised this is the other scrapbook page that I made this weekend.
This of another dog, Misty, she was our little old lady, we got her from a resuce home and she was a wreck, with fur missing, fleas and a right state. She may have only been with us for a year before her kidneys gave up, but it was a very happy year and she a transformed very happy little lady.

For this page I used SU ds paper that was in the last mini so unfortuntely it's no longer available. I've used the mixed bunch stamp set and blossom punch to create the flowers in the left corner with the leaves punched out using the build a bird punch.

I've been busy making some bookmarks and some treat packets recently that I hope to show you later this week, I'm also trying to finish off my eldest sons party invites. I've used the pennants parade stamp set and matching punch to decorate the invites, but still need to assemble the invites into the finished article before I can show you them

Happy crafting.

Scrapbooking

Yesterday I had a fun day crafting at an all day crop run by a lovely lady Carole. I decided to have a go at some more scrapbook pages. I really got into it and was happy with what I made.

I used a scrapbook kit for these three pages from Stampin up. This particular kit is now retired, but SU do have other kits out now which are just as nice. I love these kits as you get ds paper, blank card and stickers that all coordinate. Just perfect if you are like me and have a huge pile of photos and just don't have a clue where to start to scrap them.

These first two pages are a double layout of my youngest sons 2nd birthday (he's now 4, they've been on that pile of photos to scrap for quite a while!!)

Here's the third layout I made using the same kit, to scrap pictures of the two doggies I grew up with. Neither are here with us any longer, so it was lovely to scrap them and brought back happy memories. These photos were taken on Christmas day in 1998, they make me smile because I always used to dress up the dogs, espically Sandy  (the one on the right) who we got from a resue home when I was just 4.

I hope you like them, I made one more page which I'll show you tomorrow.

Apothecary Art Card

Here's another card I've not yet shared from a recent class.
I used stamps from the new Apothecary art stamp set and matching labels framelits dies to cut it out.
We stamped in old olive and used the Stampin write markers to colour in the image.
The stamp set was a big hit in the class and one lady was so surprised how well her card turned out and kept saying she couldn't believe she'd made it!!

For the card I also used the Twitterpated ds paper and the Victoria trim and old olive and very vanilla cardstock.
Some ladies also added a flower to the bottom left corner in very vanilla cardstock with the edges inked in regal rose. We then used the flower part of the build builder punch to add some leaves. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the flower embellished version.
Happy stamping and thanks for stopping by.

Blossom flowers

I made some more 3D flowers this week. This time I used the new mixed bunch stamp set from the SU mini catalogue and the co-ordinating blossom and 1" punches.

I used regal rose, lucky limeade and wistera wonder ink. After punching out the flower parts I attached then to some woodern skewers and built up three layers of the main flower and attached a different coloured center with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by.

Animal antics

I made a bright and cheerful card after been inspired by a similar card designed by another SU demonstrator Julie.
This card was lots of fun to make as I loved using all the bright inks, although it was missing my favouirate (Melon mambo), but I don't think you get pink giraffes.

I've used the fox and friends stamp set and birthday sentiment from happiest birthday wishes hostess set. The cardstock I've used is tempting turquiose and whisper white, brights ds paper pack (blue and yellow spotty sheets). I've used lots of different inks including, chocolate chip, daffodil delight, old olive, tempting turquoise and pumpkin pie.
Happy stamping.

Latest Class Projects

Todays post is to show you a collection of cards and the flowers we made at my latest class in Carterton. We made a variety of cards including a fathers day card, we played with some things from the new catalogue as well as making some flowers.

The first card uses the mixed bunch stamp set with co-ordinating blossom punch. The edges are embossed using the new SU scoreboard and the card was finished off with a sentiment (stamp from Elementary Elegance SAB stamp set in whisper white), white bakers twine and some bling.

This card uses the new up, up and away stamp set and Twitterpated ds paper. I've used pretty in pink card stock with melon mambo and baja breeze ink.

This is the fathers day card we made using the need for speed stamp set. We used well worn ds paper, cajun craze and crumb cake card, not quite navy ink, denim jean ribbon, owl builder punch (for the circles), modern label and the word window punch.

The final project was Gerbera flowers. We got time to make one in the class and the ladies got a kit to take home to make another two flowers. I thought one would look a bit lonley in a vase!!
We used the flower daisies die, riding hood red and whisper white card stock.

My next class in Carterton is Thursday 7th June 7-9.30pm.
If you'd like to book a place please get in touch.

Thanks for looking

Hot air balloon scrapbook page.

ILWS is turning 4, so to celebrate they are running some special challenges.
As today is also national scrapbooking day I thought I'd have a go and making a scrapbook page for the sketch challenge. Apart from our make and take at Stampin Up regional training at Reading I've not scrapped a page in a long time, so it was a nice change. This is a photo taken of me when I turned 30!!

I've used the up, up and away stamp set, not quite navy and riding hood red ink, twitterpated ds paper, scallop circle and scallop edge punches and white bakers twine.
Happy crafting.

Bright butterflies

This is a sneek preview of one of the cards we are making at the next card making class in Messingham in a couple of days time.

I thought we go for a nice and bright card. Although it may not look like it the butterflies are actually embossed. I used clear ink and embossed with SU melon mambo embossing power.

I've used temping turquioise, daffodil delight and melon mambo card stock. The edges are all cut with a scallop border punch and I've added some ribbon and flower using the boho blossoms punch.
I hope the ladies at the class like it.

New Apothecary Art stamp set

There's lots of new things I have to show you again today from the new SU mini catalogue.

I've been playing with the new Apothecary art stamp set and the lovely Framlits labels dies that co-cordinate perfectly with it.

It's just a shame that the photo of my card is a bit wonkey!! Only just noticed that.....oops.

I've also used some new gorgeous paper from Stampin up, this is from a new designer series paper pack called Twitterpated (page 13 of the mini catalogue).
For my card I've also used Marina mist and whisper white cardstock, the beautiful butterflies embosslits and flower daisies dies.
Thanks for stopping by.

Up up and away.........

Morning all, the new Stampin Up summer mini catalogue is here.

You can find the calatogue by clicking here

There's some fantastic new products including, ribbon, paper, stamps and the brillant new 12 by 12" scoreboard

I'm so excited as I can now show you the wonderful things that SU have for us in this catalogue.

Todays post is showing you the new stamp set called up, up and away, that I showed you in my sneek peek last week.
I just love thid set as it brings back great memories of the 30th birthday present my hubby got for me, a hot air balloon ride.

I've got two cards to show you using this new set which you can find on page 24 of the new mini catalogue.

This first one is bright and cheerful using papers and card from Stampin up brights colour collection.
I've used brights DP paper, tempting turquoise and daffodil delight card stock. I've used the matching inks and write markers for all the stamping. The little dots were made using circles from the owl builder punch. The birthday stamp is from the happiest birthday wishes hostess set.

The second card is more subtle (and similar to last weeks card). I've used ds paper from the nursery nest paper pack.
I've used Marina mist card stock. and some white bakers twine...this is also a new item in the mini catalogue. The twine comes in 6 colours including white (page 22 of the new mini catalogue).
Thanks for looking and check back tomorrow for another card using the new Apothecary art and framelits dies from the new catalogue.
Happy crafting
